Sharing backcountry knowledge is a sacred and complex thing. This panel will explore the challenges of compiling information, choosing which areas to include in a guidebook, grappling with the risks of sharing access to dangerous places, and the community love and hatred these book inspire. Matt Gunn's Scrambles in SW BC has been a foundation book in the hiking and alpine community for decades, and Taryn Eaton's Backpacking in SW BC is a must have for those looking to explore our region's trails. This panel will be hosted by writer, author and guide Cam Fenton.
