Turn your next trip into a story people remember. Great adventure films don't come from bigger expeditions or fancier gear. They come from intentional storytelling, whatever the size of your adventure. In this three-hour workshop, adventure filmmaker Levi Allen shares how he finds the story in the field and brings it home as a film. What you'll learn: The five key storytelling questions to ask before every trip, before every moment you press record and at every stage of the edit. How to film sequences that tell the story on their own, so you're not scrambling in the edit for how to make it connect Self-filming setups: the nuts and bolts of the self filming process, and how to do it all with minimal gear. How to talk to the camera without feeling awkward, even when you're tired, cold and ready to call it quits How to bring it all together. Combining A-roll, B-roll and voiceover into a story with momentum. The reality is most adventure footage never turns into a film. It ends up on a hard drive as hours of clips you can’t seem to string together. Levi made videos like that for years, montages his own mom struggled to finish, until he started a story first approach to capturing these adventures. The workshop is a condensed version of what Levi teaches in Adventure Film Academy's longer courses. You'll get the core of it in three hours, with time for questions after each section. Who it's for: Adventurers and creators who film their own trips, whether you're just getting started or you've been shooting for years and want your films to tell better stories.
